connecting past and present
The initiative relies heavily on a new model of comprehensive public policy research that examines the historical context of healthcare, municipal services, education, politics, housing, and criminal justice and their effects on present-day poverty and inequality. The research employs archival research, oral histories, work with community members, and government officials. The initiative hopes to connect with other universities doing similar work on poverty and to serve as a new model for social equity research.
